Prices vary depending on the type and complexity of your prescription.
We recommend that you purchase your initial supply of contact lenses through us, since we have the flexibility of exchanging unopened boxes or replacing damaged or defective lenses for you. Custom or Specialty fittings require material purchase through us due to the custom nature of the lenses.
We only file claims through Superior Insurance. For all other insurance carriers, we will be happy to provide you with an itemized statement of your charges and payment so you can file a claim on your own.
We will be happy to fill your contact lens prescription, which normally takes a day or two. If you would like to purchase your contact lenses elsewhere, once your fitting is completed and you are seeing your best, we will be happy to provide you with a copy of your contact lens prescription.
All patients require a contact lens evaluation every year by the Ophthalmologists. During the exam, the Ophthalmologist medically assesses your eyes to make sure your cornea, lids, and lashes are healthy enough to support contact lens wear. If you are a first time contact lens wearer, the Ophthalmologist will assess if you are a candidate for contact lenses.
The doctor’s examination does not result in a contact lens prescription. The doctor will provide you with an eyeglass prescription which will serve as the basis for your contact lenses. Proper contact lens fitting requires the knowledge and experience of a skilled contact lens fitter who specializes in providing you with a lens that is comfortable and provides the best visual acuity possible. This thorough fitting may take more than one appointment with our contact lens fitter.
No, we only see contact lens patients who have had a thorough eye examination by one of our own Ophthalmologists.
After a thorough examination by one of our Ophthalmologist and our contact lens fitter, your best contact lens options will be determined and discussed with you to best fit your visual needs.
We have decades of experience fitting rigid gas permeable lenses and will be happy to fit you with the latest in rigid gas permeable materials.
Most disposable contacts are available in complimentary trials. Although, some types of contacts are not available in complimentary trials, i.e., colored soft lenses, gas perms, or Custom Specialty planned replacement. These lenses must be purchased.
Per Texas state law, a contact lens prescription is valid for one year from the date of your last exam with the Ophthalmologist.
Yes, you will need to have a complete eye exam every year regardless of your current vision or comfort with your present contact lenses.
Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act: This act went into effect February 4, 2004. As stated by this Act, you are entitled to a copy of your contact lens prescription once the prescription is finalized by our contact lens department. Receiving a trial lens IS NOT a finalized prescription. Contact lens prescriptions are valid for one year, per Texas state law.
