He earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and graduated with honors from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society - an achievement reserved for the top medical students in the country.

Dr. Ryg completed his ophthalmology residency at Yale University, followed by a cornea fellowship at the world-renowned Proctor Foundation at the University of California, San Francisco. He also spent a dedicated year conducting research at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. His expertise includes cutting-edge refractive cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants, advanced corneal transplant procedures, LASIK, and the treatment of ocular surface tumors. He has published multiple articles in respected peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Ophthalmology.
