(Austin, TX) -- Dr. Dawn Buckingham has been elected to offices in four prestigious medical societies across the nation. Dr. Buckingham is a board-certified ophthalmologist with Eye Physicians of Austin who specializes in occuloplastic surgery.
Dr. Buckingham has been elected to the following positions: chair of the Young Physician Section of the Texas Medical Association, treasurer of the Texas Ophthalmologic Association, member of the Young Physician Governing Council of the American Medical Association, and member of Leadership Development Program of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Buckingham notes that medical societies can play a significant role in protecting and promoting high quality medical care for all patients.

"I am committed to preserving Texans' care, and I believe organized medicine is crucial in protecting patient's quality of care and patient rights. I seek these positions so that I may learn to be a better voice for my patients."
In addition to performing general eye exams and cataract surgery, Dr. Buckingham provides medical and surgical services ranging from wrinkle reduction using BOTOX to brow and eye lifts to treatment of dry eyes, a common side effect of menopause.
